Tried to update to new version. Website and admin went down, error message states "Undefined class constant 'Client'". How to solve this message?

This question appears to be off-topic. The users who voted to close gave this specific reason:

  • "Bug reports in Craft CMS or in a plugin are off-topic as they are unlikely to help others and can't easily be found by those who can fix them. Instead, submit bug reports directly to the vendor of the product being used. See: How do I submit a bug/issue with Craft?" – Lindsey D

This will be a bug in a plugin you've got installed on that site that is trying to reference the non-existent (as of a few hours ago) Craft Client edition.

If you look in your craft/storage/logs folder for that error, then you'll be able to see which plugin is causing it in the stack trace leading up to the error.

You'll then need to contact the plugin developer and share the stack trace with them so they can get it fixed for their next release.

  • Thanks, found the stack trace. Freeform is causing the issue. Can I disable the plug-in somehow to make the admin and website available again? – Guido Neele Apr 4 '18 at 21:20
  • Looks like they've released an update: github.com/solspace/craft3-freeform/issues/39 You could set the freeform line in your composer.json file to use 2.0.0-beta.14, then run composer update to pull it in. – Brad Bell Apr 4 '18 at 21:28
